About Customuse
Customuse is building an AI creative engine for image, video, and 3D. We bring leading AI models and pro creation tools into one workflow, helping creators and teams ideate, generate, edit, animate, texture, and produce publish-ready assets.
We are trusted by 15M+ creators and used across gaming, Roblox, animation, ecommerce, product design, architecture, and creative teams. The next chapter is turning Customuse into the default creative workspace for AI-native media production.
We are backed by Connect Ventures, Adjacent, and angels/operators from companies like Snap, Stripe, and SpaceX, with an investor network behind category-defining companies including Revolut and RevenueCat.
Location: London
Type: Full-time
About the role
We are looking for an exceptional 3D Engineer to build the technical foundations behind AI-powered 3D asset creation inside Customuse.
You will work on how we generate, transform, optimize, texture, render, and ship 3D assets as part of a broader AI creative engine for image, video, and 3D. This is a role for someone who can move between researchy ambiguity and production systems used by millions of creators.
What you'll do
Design systems for generating, manipulating, optimizing, and rendering 3D assets at scale
Build workflows for mesh processing, UVs, materials, textures, rigging, scene composition, and asset conversion
Work on geometry, topology, transformations, coordinate systems, optimization, and rendering problems
Prototype ambitious R&D ideas, then turn the strongest ones into reliable product features
Optimize pipelines for quality, file size, performance, compatibility, and cross-device rendering
Collaborate with product, AI, design, and engineering to make complex 3D technology feel simple for creators
You might be a fit if
You have strong experience in 3D engineering, graphics, computational geometry, game engines, simulation, CAD, procedural generation, or related fields
You understand vectors, matrices, quaternions, transformations, coordinate systems, projections, and spatial reasoning deeply
You have worked with asset formats and pipelines such as glTF, FBX, OBJ, USD, Blender, game-engine import/export flows, or custom tooling
You write strong production code, ideally in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, C++, Rust, or similar
You care about performance, numerical robustness, asset quality, and user experience
Bonus points
PhD, research, or advanced academic work in graphics, geometry processing, computer vision, simulation, robotics, ML, or related fields
Experience with generative AI for 3D, image-to-3D, text-to-3D, procedural generation, or neural rendering
Experience with Three.js, WebGL, WebGPU, OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, Unity, Unreal, Blender scripting, Houdini, or USD
Experience building tools for game studios, UGC platforms, avatar systems, Roblox, Fortnite/UEFN, creator marketplaces, browser, or mobile
What we offer
Competitive salary and stock options
Real ownership from day one on a product used by millions of creators
Work at the intersection of AI, media creation, gaming, 3D, and creative tools
A small, ambitious team with direct feedback, high trust, and high standards
