Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Accounts Manager to oversee the full spectrum of accounting and financial operations across multiple group entities. This is a hands-on role requiring a detail-oriented professional who can manage day-to-day financial operations, liaise with external accountants and auditors, and ensure full regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and take ownership of all financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation and management of monthly, quarterly, and annual payment schedules across multiple entities
• Full bank reconciliations across multiple business bank accounts (including Lloyds and other banking partners)
• Management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of all invoices and payments
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns (quarterly) and ensuring full HMRC compliance
• Corporation Tax liaison and preparation of supporting schedules for external accountants
• Payroll processing including PAYE, National Insurance contributions, pension auto-enrolment, and RTI submissions
• Preparation of management accounts and financial reporting for directors and stakeholders
• Multi-entity accounting - maintaining separate books and records for each company within the group
• Landlord and tenant payment management, including service charge reconciliations and ground rent schedules
• Service charge budgeting, apportionment, and year-end reconciliations for managed properties
• Processing and reconciling inter company transactions and loan accounts
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors on year-end accounts preparation and statutory filings
• Liaising with banks regarding account management, facilities, and day-to-day banking queries
• Managing company formations, annual confirmation statements (Companies House), and company closure/dissolution processes
• Credit control and debt recovery management
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Petty cash management and expense processing
• Invoicing clients and tenants, including rent demands, service charge demands, and ad-hoc billing
• Cash flow forecasting and treasury management across group entities
• Supporting senior management with financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic decision-making
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial legislation and accounting standards (UK GAAP / FRS 102)
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of UK-based accounting experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Dext or similar accounting software
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling)
• Solid understanding of UK tax legislation (VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE)
• Experience with multi-entity or group accounting structures
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience in property or real estate accounting is highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
• AAT qualified or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
• Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA is advantageous
• Experience working in investment, property, or finance environments
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Benefits:
• Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 PA
