We are looking to hire an Accounts Payable Manager who will report into the Group Finance Manager and will be responsible for managing the accounts payable/receivable process, and supporting the wider AP team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing the accounts payable team (both in the UK and SA) to ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, supplier invoices, credit notes, staff expense claims, payments, and supplier queries.
  • Lead and manage the outsourced finance admin personnel in South Africa to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all employees’ expense claims, travel arrangements and queries.
  • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, from receipt of supplier invoices through to payment and reconciliation of accounts
  • Ensure proper coding and classification of purchases in line with the company’s chart of accounts.
  • Manage the reconciliation of AP accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies and accurate reporting.
  • Monitor and manage vendor relationships, including dispute resolution and ensuring accurate payment terms are adhered to
  • Prepare and maintain monthly accounts payable reports, aged payable reports, open bills, and any relevant KPIs.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain monthly employee expense and travel reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution.
  • Ensure all bank accounts across the Group and its holding companies are correctly processed, maintained, and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate accountability in overseeing and managing both the employee reimbursement tool and the travel arrangement tools, ensuring they are effectively monitored, compliant with company policies, and operating efficiently.
  • Work closely with other departments across the wider business.
  • Actively contributes to the improvement of Accounts Payable (AP) processes by identifying efficiency opportunities and communicating clearly and effectively with all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with auditors.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes.
  • Supervise and mentor the AP staff (both in SA and UK), providing training and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required of your role.
  • Adhere to all FCA regulations including Consumer Duty




  • Essential Skills And Experience

    • Must have prior experience working in a high volume Accounts Payable role
    • Must have managed a Team of AP clerks
    • Experience working in an FCA regulated role would be advantageous
