Then look no further, this role could be for you! An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time Qualified post in Breast surgery as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. This vacancy is a permanent post.
The role was originally developed to enable new ways of working, specifically, the Mastalgia pathway for the Northants region. This is a nurse-led service allowing both Northampton and Kettering General Hospital patients with breast pain to be seen in clinics based outside of the main hospital.
Dependent on experience, you will be expected to run these clinics under remote supervision. You will also support the breast clinicians in diagnostic and follow up clinics and generally support the breast nursing team.
The applicant will be expected to hold a Non-Medical Prescribing qualification at level 6 or above and be qualified in Clinical Breast Examination. However we will consider a practitioner qualified in clinical examination without the prescribing course. This may affect the banding of the post being offered.
The practitioner will work alongside the consultant surgeons and lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner to support both the mastalgia pathway for Northamptonshire and the diagnostic/follow up breast clinics.
You Will
Provide direct clinical care and practice within your scope of competence. Assisting in the provision of Outpatient clinics and care of patients within the breast pathway
Assess diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients that present to the breast surgery service.
Make independent clinical decisions and initiate invasive and non-invasive treatments, care, treatments, and technological interventions with the support of senior colleagues.
If qualified, act as an independent non-medical prescriber, working within agreed protocols.
Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to provide best-practice clinical care to breast patients and their carers.
Facilitate learning and provision of education. Teaching and providing mentorship and support to other staff within the Trust to promote quality of care.
Evaluate the care and management of patients within the breast service and specifically the Mastalgia p
athway, using clinical audit, presenting outcomes locally and nationally.
