Are you looking for a challenging role in an innovative and creative working environment? Are you at a stage in your career where you are looking to do something different? Perhaps you would like to develop your management skills, but don’t have the opportunity in your current role? As part of the Maximisation Independence Service North (covering Bassetlaw and Newark) you can do all of this.
The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) is a service area in the Adult Social Care department, which is focused on early resolution, prevention and promoting independence and well-being. The service embeds a Strength Based Approach in everyday practice in line with the departments Adult Social Care Strategy and the Care Act 2014. The aim of the service is to help people to maximise their independence as much as possible by providing information, advice, and guidance, setting short-term goals, and identifying support to achieve those goals.
The Maximising Independence Service will also work with other providers to support people to increase their independence and well-being.
To help us achieve our aim, we are looking for somebody who has the right skills, knowledge and values. So, do your values match ours?
We Think It Is Important To
- Promote the principles of choice and control
- Take a personalised approach to supporting people
- Provide care and support with dignity and respect
- Take pride in the quality of the work we do
We are a multidisciplinary service of Promoting Independence Workers, Service Advisers, Community Care Officers, Occupational Therapists, Social Worker and supportive management. In overseeing the person’s journey and as part of the MIS, you will have access to colleagues who provide direct service and support provision.
You will need to have a Social Work Qualification registered with Social Work England and you will need to demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience at Band B level.
You will also be an Approved Adult Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), or a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Practice Educator (Level 2).
You will be required to provide supervision, line management to MIS North team members and have oversight of the incoming work and allocation of work.
Do you think you can make a positive contribution to the service? If so, we would love to hear from you!
If you feel that you would be well suited to this type of work and have the relevant experience and skills to meet the job description, we would welcome an application from you. In return, you will receive ongoing training and coaching, regular supervision, annual development appraisals alongside the support of a highly skilled team. You will be provided with appropriate technology and access to work remotely.
