Job Overview

An opportunity has opened up for those working in a Clinical Cancer AHP role at North Bristol NHS Trust to develop their skills as AHP Clinical Lead for Cancer. The successful candidate will exercise advanced diplomacy and interpersonal skills to progress services for patients relating to physical activity and nutrition. With oversight and support from the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Cancer Services, the successful candidate will work to optimise available resources, negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for patient need and choice. Highly developed communication skills and an ability to negotiate with empathy and emotional intelligence will be essential for the success of this role. The post-holder will be supported to develop their skills as a strategic clinical lead and join a highly motivated team with a passion for improving services for the local population.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical and professional leadership to AHPs and AHP related work in cancer services.

• Support delivery of cancer strategy for the Trust alongside the cancer multiprofessional team through leadership of cancer AHPs.

Represent the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (Cancer Services) regarding AHP activity.

Lead on service development, quality improvement, and patient choice.

Oversee operational management, including assurance reporting, incident handling, and service evaluation.

Coordinate and deliver education and training for staff and patients.

Contribute to the strategic planning of cancer services across the Trust.

Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and a patient-focused approach to service and role development.

The role requires advanced leadership, communication, and partnership-building skills, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, local policy development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
