Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Band 5 Nurse, ODP or Newly Qualified to join our friendly Anaesthetic Theatre team within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Our specialties include Gynae Elective and Oncology, Urology, Upper GI, Colorectal, Breast, Vascular, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Head and Neck

Our team will be dedicated towards your development by providing a supportive, encouraging and positive learning environment. Successful applicants will receive supernumerary status whilst achieving specific competencies, additional training and potential leadership progression.

Full time and part time posts will be considered if candidates possess the right skills and knowledge. The post includes a varied shift pattern, day/night/on call rota, weekends and bank holidays.

Existing anaesthetic skills required. Open to Newly Qualified ODP applicants.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC level 1 actively registered Nurse with recognised anaesthetic course/ HCPC actively registered Operating Department Practitioner

Desirable

  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification (or equivalent)
  • ILS/ALS

Experience

Essential

  • Recent experience of working in a theatre environment utilising anaesthetic skills

Desirable

  • Experience working in specialities listed in Job Description

Knowledge/ Skills

Essential

  • Mature and flexible approach to problem solving
  • Effective time-management and prioritisation of workload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as a team
  • Knowledge of Trust's values and vision
