About The Role
Become a vital part of a passionate team who are enabling IAG Cargo to make critical business decisions using leading edge data analytics. Bring a new perspective on data and how it can be used to solve challenges across the organisation. Your output will be essential in enabling insight driven decision-making within the business.
The role involves managing a team to deliver leading edge data exploitation, analysis and modelling.
Your team will own a portfolio of reports, models and dashboards, provide analytical expertise and act as champions for data development needs. You will lead the team to deliver robust and reliable data and advanced analytical solutions for the business and maintain the quality of IAG Cargo’s management information through continuous improvement.
The analytics and data science lead should have a strong enthusiasm for problem solving and a passion for data. They will be expected to provide analytical expertise, seek to identify data gaps and proactively develop the data agenda in line with business priorities as well as challenge business leaders to become truly data-driven. A positive thinker with plenty of curiosity would be ideal for this role

What You’ll Do
- Manage a team of data analysts.
- Capture analytics demand and estimate resource required.
- Plan, manage and communicate analyst capacity against demand pipeline.
- Lead data and analytics work packages in delivery projects.
- Design and manage the delivery process and framework for analysts to manage demand.
- Work with core business areas to gain a deep understanding of data and analysis needs.
- Jointly develop departmental data strategies covering up to 5 years.
- Manage analytics development across multiple business area portfolios.
- Structure problems and design and develop analytics products to inform decision making.
- Identify options and size benefits and risks for solutions.
- Provide internal consultancy skills, analytical expertise, bespoke analyses, and promote insight driven decision making.
- Work alongside data engineers to create data pipelines for delivering analytics products.
- Present data driven insights to audiences of all levels.
- Consult and bring together stakeholders at all levels of the business to gain buy-in to ideas and approaches.
- Identify, prioritise and advance data quality improvement plans.
What you’ll bring to IAG Cargo:

- Effective at people management.

- Proven ability to structure problems.
- Able to refine and clarify vague requirements.
- Experienced in delivering metrics, analyses, visualisations, and statistical models.
- Ability to lead the direction of analytical projects.
- Can prioritise workloads and manage tight deadlines
- Numerate Degree or relevant equivalent experience
Essential Experience
- Analysing complex issues, packaging findings and presenting effectively to stakeholders
- Managing databases and/or blending data
- Designing data for management information purposes
- Leading the direction of analytical projects
- Working knowledge of data engineering pipelines
- Hands on programming experience
- Visualising data and presenting trends and findings for broad audiences
- Creating and using numerical models and solving optimisation problems
