Description

At William Grant & Sons, our rich heritage and vibrant legacy sit at the heart of everything we do. Our Archive collection tells the unique story of our business, and as we continue to develop and expand this resource, we're looking for an Archive Assistant to join the team.

We’re looking for a well‑rounded professional individual, capable of blending meticulous archival skills with a warm, engaging approach that brings historical treasures to life.

You should take pride in accuracy and detail, but you also bring curiosity, energy, and a genuine interest in helping preserve and communicate our company’s story.

What You Will Be Doing

  • You’ll work closely with the established Archive team to support the care, organisation, and development of our collections.
  • Supporting the Archive to maintain accurate, accessible, and well‑organised records and assets.
  • Cataloguing & preserving historic materials, ensuring each item is described, protected, and maintained in line with established archival standards.
  • Working with colleagues and stakeholders across the business, contributing to a culture of open communication and shared learning that enriches our understanding of our heritage.
  • Digital & Physical Collection: Assisting with the care, digitisation, and ongoing development of both physical and digital materials.
  • Bringing a warm, engaging, people‑centred approach to the role—recognising that archival work is about relationships and stories as much as it is about objects.

  • About You

    Academic & Professional Expertise

    • A postgraduate qualification in Archive/Information Studies, plus hands‑on experience in business or drinks archives, cataloguing work, or similar projects.

    Technical Skills

    • Strong knowledge of archival standards and procedures, copyright and GDPR requirements, and experience with Excel, CMS systems, digitisation standards, and workflow management.

    Communication & Collaboration

    • The ability to connect naturally with people, communicate complex ideas clearly, and build positive working relationships across diverse teams.

If you combine meticulous archival skills with an engaging, collaborative approach—and you want to contribute to a long-term project that celebrates both history and innovation—we’d love to hear from you.
