We offer an exciting position in a busy department at our office in Manchester. We are looking for a candidate with experience in either export or import customs procedures – preferably both – who, with the right motivation and interest, is eager to develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire customs field over time. Of course, you will receive thorough training and support to succeed in your new role.

The position

The position is a full-time and will involve dealing with our customers and partners handling traffic worldwide by road, sea and air.

The job includes:

Customs clearance of goods in the GB Customs online system.
Preparation of export declarations.
Management of procedures related to customs warehousing and other temporary storage procedures
Preparation of various customs documents
Proactively addressing and resolving challenges arising throughout the working day
Occasional on-call weekend work

What We Expect From You

Important that you have good communication skills in English. Furthermore, we expect that you:

have some experience with customs clearance – preferably with Road experience
experience with transport business is an advantage
knowledge of customs procedures, customs systems, and tariff classification of goods
strong IT knowledge.
can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks
always work with the client in focus
are motivated by a hectic workday and sometimes large workloads and deadlines
