Engineering Assistant | Private Hospital | Warrington | Full Time | Permanent | 37.5 hours | Competitive salary + excellent benefits
Spire Cheshire Hospital, Warrington are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Engineering Assistant to join our established maintenance team.

Working Hours: Combination of shifts between 7 am and 5 pm Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends will be required. On call rota - 1 week in 3
Contract Type:Full time - Permanent
As Assistant Engineer, you will work within the engineering team to maintain grounds, building fabric, building services and all equipment in a cost effective manor, ensuring compliance with all current National legislation and Spire policies.
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
- To undertake maintenance, testing of plant, equipment, ensuring compliance with current HTM recommendations, PPM Schedules, Spire policies and manufacturers instruction. Whilst maintaining records of all works completed
- To receive and take action on maintenance requests from departments/delegated by the engineering leadership and maintain records of work undertaken on CMMS - Pirana
- To provide out of hours emergency on-call service
- To provide in-house day to day maintenance service
- To facilitate the maintenance, on a continuous basis, of the site buildings and equipment within the hospitals ensuring an efficient and safe maintenance and engineering service
- To complete self-competency assessment and actively work to develop skills in-line with training and needs of the business
- Maintain continual professional development in engineering.
- To ensure hospitals are compliant and adhere to all the regulatory requirements as per the Engineering Audit and Spire policy
- To assist the engineering manager in the delivery of local engineering policies and ensure their safe and compliant implementation
- Liaise as appropriate with the Engineering Manager/deputy Engineering Manager and the Operations Director as required
- The nature of this role means that hours of duty may change in line with the needs of the business. Hours more than contract may be required, and flexibility is essential due to the changing nature of private healthcare, including on-call
Who We're Looking For
- Engineering expereince in a hospital/healthcare environemt is desired but not essential
- Be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment
- Customer oriented; friendly and able to exude an approachable attitude towards patients and colleagues
- Practical person with an ability to solve problems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced role
- Fast learner with an eye for detail
