Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week (hybrid)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Group People Services Manager, you’ll work with the Shared Service Team to ensure a consistent approach across your allocated area. You’ll provide expert guidance on a wide range of employee relations (ER) issues, ensuring consistency and compliance with employment law and internal policies. You will be familiar with regulatory requirements to ensure we remain compliant. You’ll be passionate about supporting people and ensuring our colleagues are supported and valued.


Your Responsibilities


Person-led Care

  • Provide advice and coaching to managers on absence, probation, and low-level conduct cases.
  • Ensure fair and legally compliant handling of all casework in line with internal policies and procedures.
  • Support investigations, hearings, and appeals – coaching and upskilling operational managers.

Great Planning & Leadership

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all ER activity, escalating high-risk or complex cases accordingly.
  • Analyse ER data and trends to identify themes and opportunities for improvement, providing monthly reports to the Regional People Partners.
  • Support organisational change activities in line with best practice.
  • Deliver Great Standards

    • Contribute to policy development by providing practical insight and feedback from operational experience.
    • Keep up to date with employment legislation and best practice to inform advice and decision-making.

    Work as a Team

    • Collaborate with the wider People Team, including Learning & Development, to support people priorities.
    • Build effective working relationships with managers and employees to foster trust and engagement.
    • Participate in regular ER reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to drive continuous improvement.

    Professional Boundaries and Communication

    • Promote clear, professional, and supportive communication throughout all processes.
    • Handle sensitive matters with discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality.
    • Uphold professional conduct, acting as a role model for our values and standards.

    The Main Skills and Experience for This Role


    Essential

    • Proven experience in managing a wide range of employee relations cases.
    • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
    • Proficient in using HR systems and Microsoft packages.
    • High attention to detail.
