What The Day Job Looks Like
As Assistant Financial Controller
, you will:
- Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and group reporting submissions.
- Produce clear management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis).
- Own CAPEX reporting and support tax/VAT submissions in coordination with Group.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles.
- Provide working capital and cash flow analysis to improve liquidity.
- Partner with operational teams to deliver insight and financial modelling.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Manage, mentor and motivate the transactional finance team.
- Drive process improvements and transformation initiatives.
- Youre a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or similar) .
- Youve previously worked as an Assistant FC or in a similar senior finance role.
- You have experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment .
- Youre confident with financial systems, Power BI and advanced Excel.
- You prefer purely transactional finance with no strategic involvement.
- Youre not comfortable leading month-end or managing audits.
- You struggle to balance accuracy with pace in a demanding environment.
- Youre not confident working cross-functionally with non-finance teams.
