Job Overview

An ongoing transformation programme in Essex has opened up a number of exciting opportunities for psychological services professionals who have an interest in the treatment and management of Complex Trauma that might meet criteria for Personality Disorder. The integrated care pathway supports the aspirations identified in the NHS Long Term Plan and Community Mental Health Framework.

These opportunities challenged traditional models of mental health provision to prevent escalation of mental health crises and develop true community-based, integrated and systemic services. You will be part of this continuing change, while developing your own skills and forging a progressive career pathway. We will support and invest in any further training.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity as arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Specialist Essex-wide Personality Disorder and Complex Needs Service User Network.

This posts will suit applicants with previous experience of service evaluation, delivery of group interventions and confidence working relatively autonomously whist benefiting from the support and supervision of senior Psychological Services staff.

Responsibilities will include co-facilitation of group interventions (psycho-education groups, skills teaching, peer support), contribution to the ongoing development and co-facilitation of a system-wide training programme, service evaluation/quality improvement, and contact with service users, promoting awareness and engagement.

You Will Be Able To Demonstrate The Following

  • An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology
  • High-level communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to communication sensitive information to service users, carers and colleagues
  • Experience of carrying out research/audits in an NHS environment
