Associate Adviser (Education)

The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced trainers and facilitators who can deliver complex content to senior, multi-disciplinary audiences in a range of delivery settings including online. As an Associate Adviser you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality training on an ad-hoc basis. You’ll work closely with NHS stakeholders and senior, multi-disciplinary audiences, contributing your expertise to the effective delivery of our programmes.

In this role, you’ll deliver and facilitate training on managing and resolving practitioner performance concerns, drawing on your own experience of case management or investigation. You’ll use standardised materials to ensure a consistent, quality-assured approach, while adapting to group needs, managing dynamics, and supporting meaningful discussion. Workshops are delivered both in-house and as part of a national programme, across face-to-face and virtual settings.

What You'll Be Doing

We are looking for experienced educators who can deliver complex content to senior, multi-disciplinary audiences in a range of delivery settings including online. You will need to demonstrate an ability to:

• Share insights from your own experience of case management or case investigation related to performance concerns of doctors, dentists and pharmacists
• Facilitate, lead and direct group discussion (all of our education programmes are about identifying, managing and resolving performance concerns)
• Work with standardised training materials to ensure a consistent and quality assured programme, and also respond in the moment to group requirements
• Keep delegates focused on exercises whilst managing group dynamics
• Summarise comments and feedback succinctly
• Provide constructive feedback during and following training workshops.

Practitioner Performance Advice service

Practitioner Performance Advice NHS Resolution’s Practitioner Performance Advice Service (‘the Advice Service’) provides impartial, expert advice, interventions and insights nationally, to frontline healthcare organisations to help them to fairly and effectively manage and resolve concerns about individual doctors, dentists and pharmacists, as well as clinical teams. Our ultimate aim is to support the retention of a skilled and valued clinical workforce in the NHS to deliver safe and effective patient care. As an integral part of NHS Resolution, the Advice Service is changing to respond to the evolving needs and priorities of the NHS, in line with NHS Resolution's strategic ambitions.

Practitioner Performance Advice provides a range of expert services to NHS organisations and other bodies in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and other administrations. We deliver case advice, assessments and other interventions as well as education programmes, Insights publications and a range of other expert services to support effective management and resolution of performance concerns.
