A chance to thrive

We’re looking for an Associate IT Analyst to join our Save and Pay team at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc.

In this role, you’ll help design and deliver new digital journeys for our savings customers, working in a collaborative Agile environment at the heart of our DevOps teams. You’ll make a real impact by supporting initiatives that simplify how we work, modernise our technology, and improve customer experiences.

You’ll work closely with analysts, product managers, architects, engineers, and operations teams, developing a strong understanding of how we deliver change across our online and mobile channels. We’re looking for someone with technical curiosity who enjoys exploring feasibility and shaping solutions across digital journeys and system integrations.

You’ll report to an IT Analyst who’ll support your development, with clear pathways into analyst, lead analyst, product owner, and architect roles.

You’ll work within SAFe and DevOps scrum teams and get hands‑on experience with a range of tools and technologies, including Jira, Confluence, Figma and Microsoft 365, as well as exposure to mobile app journeys, third‑party systems and API integrations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating with product, architecture and engineering teams to ensure Savings features are accurately understood, refined, and implemented.
  • Supporting discovery activities and define the scope of new work, producing clear, high‑quality user stories and acceptance criteria for customer-facing digital features.
  • Reviewing technical designs, process flows and system impacts, ensuring system impacts are fully understood and documented.
  • Assessing upstream and downstream system impacts and working closely with analysts, architects and engineers to validate technical feasibility and shape robust end‑to‑end solutions
  • Supporting delivery teams through test case definition, clarification, and implementation activities.
  • Acting as custodian of Savings-related requirements, performing root cause analysis and coordinating resolutions with technical teams.
  • Ensuring delivered features align with internal policies, strategic objectives, and relevant external regulations.

We need you to have:
  • Experience working as IT analyst experience or a (completed) relevant technology degree.
  • Structured documentation skills including basic process mapping skills
  • A positive, collaborative approach to working with others.
  • Experience communicating with all levels of stakeholders in an organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail, and ability to break down ambiguous or complex problems into clear, structured analysis outputs

  • And if you have any of these, even better

    • Experience delivering digital customer features (web or mobile), including writing user stories and acceptance criteria in Agile teams.
    • Experience supporting system or process changes in an Agile, cross‑functional environment.
    • Knowledge of savings onboarding, customer decisioning journeys or ISA transfers.
    • Experience working closely with engineers to understand systems, sense‑check feasibility and help shape technical solutions.

We don’t expect you to tick every box, and if you feel you hit most of the brief, it’s worth exploring to further develop your career here with us.

    What’s In It For You

    • Prepare for your retirement with our colleague pension scheme.
    • Private Medical Insurance including GP Service scheme.
  • Discretionary annual incentive (AVP level and above)
  • Indulge in a holiday allowance of 25 days plus 8 prescribed bank holidays.
  • Benefit from our family-oriented initiatives, encompassing enhanced maternity leave pay, a shared parental leave policy, and a generous paid paternity leave.
  • Take advantage of our ongoing learning opportunities and training, to help you achieve the job and career you want.

  • Everyone’s welcome

We want all our colleagues to always feel welcome and be themselves at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc. We’re committed to building a more inclusive workplace and celebrating everything that makes colleagues unique, and value the richness and diversity this brings to our business. A more diverse business helps us deliver on our purpose to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.

    How to apply

We value our people and diverse teams and believe the variety of backgrounds and experiences make us stronger to achieve our goals.

Our colleagues are working hybrid, taking time to meet with colleagues in our offices for moments that matter, such as team catch ups, planning meetings and more. If you’re interested in finding out more about what a career at Tesco Bank looks like, click apply to find out more!
