Band 6 - Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, Radiology

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Radiology Department at St Albans City Hospital.

This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, individualised care to patients, relatives, and carers, while working closely with a diverse multidisciplinary team including radiographers, consultant radiologists, radiographic departmental assistants, and administrative staff.

You will play an integral role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care within Radiology, while supporting and supervising junior staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your clinical and leadership skills, contribute to innovation in patient care, and make a meaningful difference in a dynamic hospital environment.

Previous Experience In Radiology Is Essential.

• Provide nursing support and clinical expertise to enable high-quality, safe care for patients undergoing diagnostic procedures.
• Work alongside the multidisciplinary team to support and coordinate services within Radiology.
• Assist in leading and supervising junior members of staff, promoting education, development, and good practice.

Act as a role model, delivering direct clinical care and supporting patients with complex needs.

Support patient flow and service delivery across multiple sites when required (Watford, Hemel Hempstead).

Respond to patient, carer, or relative concerns with professionalism and sensitivity, escalating where appropriate.

With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.
