To deliver a high-quality, safe, and efficient MRI and CT service within Candover Radiology, ensuring excellent patient care and diagnostic imaging standards.
The post holder will independently assess and justify imaging referrals, undertake a wide range of MRI and CT examinations, and ensure images are of diagnostic quality in line with professional standards, legislation, and departmental policies.
The role includes supervision and support of junior staff and students, participation in the 7-day MRI rota, and contribution to service development and continuous improvement.
The post holder will play an active role in maintaining service resilience, supporting service expansion, and embedding best practice across cross-sectional imaging.
Clinical Practice
- Assess, justify, and perform MRI and CT examinations in accordance with IR(ME)R, professional guidance, and local protocols.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, dignity, and comfort at all times.
- Confidently run MRI and CT lists, including accommodating emergency and urgent requests.
- Administer intravenous contrast agents and associated medications in line with departmental procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of adverse events.
- Maintain MRI safety standards, ensuring compliance with local rules and national guidance.
- Perform daily quality assurance checks and basic equipment troubleshooting.
