Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and skilled Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Respiratory Outpatient & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
This role involves working across multiple sites and contributing to the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes at both hospital and community venues, as well as providing one-to-one assessments for patients with chronic respiratory diseases in diverse settings.
We are looking for qualified Physiotherapists with the necessary expertise to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team, which includes Physiotherapists, support workers, and administrative staff. As a Band 6 Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload, running Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes, working autonomously, supervising more junior team members and contributing to service improvement. You will receive ongoing training, clinical reasoning sessions, and peer review, with access to support from senior therapists, nursing staff, and respiratory consultants whenever needed.
In this role, you will undertake specialist assessments of patients with complex respiratory and associated psychological conditions, creating and implementing personalised treatment plans tailored to each individual. Additionally, you will contribute to audits and research projects and the NRAP Pulmonary Rehabilitation national audit to support the accreditation of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
- To run UHB Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes and assessments.
- To perform specialist assessment of respiratory patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, developing and delivering an individualised treatment programme based on this.
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and maintain associated records.
