Paediatric Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist - Band 7 advert
This role incorporates offering advice and practical support to staff on the management of tissue viability issues. The provision of specialist clinical advice for individual patients which includes referral management, telephone triage, remote assessment & planning, face-to-face complex assessment & recommendations. Other tasks involve asset management, audit and innovation.
You will be recognised as the acknowledged expert in the management of children/young people at risk or with tissue viability problems and will provide leadership and direction to staff within Specialist Nursing Services whilst liaising with the Trust Tissue Viability team.
You will hold a caseload of children and young people (CYP) that require support with wound care and tissue viability management and support with delivering other clinical interventions required within the community setting.
You will work autonomously to provide advanced highly specialised professional advice to colleagues to enhance clinical practice and ensure high standards of tissue viability care.
Full time/part time/flexible hours of working will be considered at interview.

Provide support and advice for staff who are involved in delivering wound care & preventative interventions within Paediatric Specialist Services. Dissemination of knowledge & skills involving planning and design of training sessions and e-learning packages, face-to-face training of small groups and 1-to-1 coaching.
Triage and manage tissue viability referrals coming into the CCN and Palliative Care service giving telephone advice where appropriate and agreeing with the clinical coordinators on the urgency of the referral dependency.
Provide face-to-face and remote specialist advice to nursing teams, examining the quality of wound care delivered in terms of assessment, prevention and treatment through home visits and the clinic model.
Hold a caseload of CYP that require support with wound care and tissue viability management and support with delivering other clinical interventions required within the community setting across Paediatric Specialist Services
To ensure all CYP on Tissue Viability caseload have an up to date clinical assessment and review of care plans in line with local polices/SOP and clinical need.
To maintain clinical competencies for other nursing interventions including clinical assessments, administration of injections, medications, management of enteral feeding devices and Central Venous Line (CVL).
