Job Summary
We have an exciting band 7 post available within our medical surgical dietetic team! If you are looking to develop within a specialist area alongside progressing your leadership skills we have the role for you.
Our post as Team Lead for the Specialist Medicine team offers you a fantastic opportunity to showcase your dietetic skills and support patients with a diverse range of presentations. Within Specialist Medicine you will lead a team covering infectious diseases, respiratory and cardiology across Heartlands and Good Hope Hospitals and have lots of opportunities for collaborative working with the MDT. Heartlands hospital is a regional centre for infectious diseases and so will provide unique opportunities for service development. There will be many opportunities for professional development, both clinically and in relation to leadership.
There will be excellent support from the wider medical surgical team and department to support you in reaching your goals. You will be passionate about improving care, quality and the overall experience whilst making a difference to the people who access our services. Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
You will act as a source of expertise for the wider department within the clinical area. Multidisciplinary team working will be essential and you will have a key role in promoting nutrition and raising the profile of dietetics across the Trust. Clinical work will be across a variety of settings, we are committed to flexible working and supporting your work life balance.
You will also have opportunity to develop your leadership skills, with responsibility for the day to day management of a team of dietitians and dietetic assistants. The post will sit within our wider medical surgical team, a dynamic team which is continually striving for excellence.
We have a strong focus on quality improvement and service development and we look forward to working with you to develop dietetic provision across these areas. We are supportive of dietitians undertaking research and committed to your personal and career development. The department also has a strong focus on wellbeing and regular events to support this.
Therapies at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals as part of UHB is committed to providing a 7-day therapy service with participation in bank holiday cover for dietetics.
The Trust is a multi-site organisation, therefore you may be required to work at any Trust site and you may need to change your normal place of work either temporarily or on a permanent basis as a result of development or re-organisation of Trust services.
