What you’ll do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Executive to join our Client Development team within the Marketing department on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis. The role supports the smooth running of the tendering process and plays an important part in clearly communicating Ashfords’ value proposition to clients.
You will monitor tender portals and shared inboxes, circulate relevant opportunities, and support the coordination of bids from start to submission. This includes keeping bid materials and content up to date, case studies, and helping to produce high-quality tender and capability documents that support fee earners’ business development activity.
Working closely with the Bids & Proposals Manager, you will assist with responses to Invitations to Tender and the development of client proposals and pitches. You will help create compelling, customer-facing documents using bidding best practice, as well as support bid meetings, action plans, final formatting and proofreading, portal submissions, and the tracking of outcomes and feedback.
In addition, you will support supplier questionnaires and framework usage reporting, while contributing to wider Client Development and firm-wide initiatives such as our ESG and EDI frameworks. The role can be based in Exeter or Bristol, with flexible working options available.
Who you are
You will have strong creative writing skills and excellent grammar, along with a high level of attention to detail. Highly organised with excellent project management skills, you will be confident working to tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities effectively. Ideally, you will have at least one year’s experience working in a B2B or professional services environment.
As a collaborative and positive team player, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy building effective working relationships with colleagues across the firm and externally. You will interact confidently and build strong, effective relationships across the firm and with external contacts, working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to gather information and deliver high‑quality work.
You’ll be an enthusiastic, proactive self-starter who is equally comfortable working independently and as part of a busy team. With a professional and ethical approach, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of confidentiality and a willingness to continually learn, develop your skills, and contribute to the wider success of the Client Development team and the firm overall.
