About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with strong multi‑drop experience, particularly in rural areas, and the ability to operate confidently in locations with restricted access. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound knowledge of transport legislation, including drivers’ hours regulations, the Working Time Directive, and compliance with ‘O’ licence requirements.
We are looking for someone with a positive, proactive attitude who works effectively both as part of a team and independently. A strong commitment to safety is essential, with the ability to assess tasks carefully and refuse any work that cannot be completed safely.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintai
ning a clean, compliant vehicle, carrying out thorough pre‑use checks, and following all defect‑reporting procedures in line with DVSA standards. You will also ensure the safe and secure loading and unloading of the Vacuum Tanker, operating in accordance with all Northumbrian Water health and safety policies, including our “Everyone Home Safe Every Day” approach.
You will adopt safe and fuel‑efficient driving practices to support environmental sustainability and optimal vehicle performance.
Providing excellent customer service is key to this position. You will represent our brand professionally and work positively with both external customers and internal wastewater teams to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you must hold a C licence entitlement, a valid driver tachograph card, and a Driver CPC. You should also demonstrate a solid understanding of EU Drivers’ Hours rules and Working Time Regulations. Knowledge of the Northumberland and County Durham areas would be advantageous.
You will be part of a supportive team and will work collaboratively with colleagues, while also being able to operate independently when required.
Previous Vacuum Tanker experience is preferred; however, full training and support will be provided for candidates without direct experience.
