Description

Crown is looking for an experienced Rental Manager to take ownership of our Short‑Term Rental Department, ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient delivery of rental operations while continuously improving performance, customer satisfaction and commercial results.


In this role, you will lead the administration and coordination of our short‑term rental fleet — from contracts and invoicing to customer support, fleet status, and asset management. You’ll work closely with customers, our sales team, and the Regional Service Manager to ensure every rental truck is prepared, compliant and delivered on time.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Oversee the full rental process, ensuring contracts are raised, signed and invoiced promptly.
  • Monitor and manage all incoming rental enquiries.
  • Handle customer queries relating to invoices, agreements and terminations.
  • Respond to customer and sales enquiries within 2 hours wherever possible.
  • Coordinate correct equipment selection and workshop requests to meet agreed timescales.
  • Manage transport for the region, ensuring accurate and timely delivery/collection documentation.
  • Ensure returned equipment is inspected quickly and damage estimates are followed through.
  • Manage termination of contracts and preparation for subsequent rentals.
  • Produce rolling 3‑month rental forecasts.
  • Contribute to annual budgets and assist with year‑end stock audits.
  • Agree rental rates with sales and communicate directly to customers.
  • Maintain service records and provide structured information to insurers.
  • Ensure all rental assets meet LOLER/PUWER requirements.
  • Oversee all rental‑related administration, including new customer setup, sales information and weekly reporting.

  • What You’ll Bring


    Essential Skills


    • Strong administrative, organisational and customer‑service skills.
    • Confident use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables/data manipulation).
    • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
    • Proven experience in transportation, rental or logistics.
    • Ability to build strong working relationships across internal teams and with customers.
    • Working knowledge of LOLER regulations.


    Desirable Skills


    • Experience with Baan or SAP.
    • Engineering or forklift‑industry knowledge.
