This role is for a Broadcast Support Engineer, initially focusing on the Distribution area (OTT, DTH, VOD). As part of the onsite support shift team, you will be looking after day-to-day systems and projects - from maintaining encoders & multiplexers, to reactive video & audio related technical issues. You will be working across all of Sky’s output, including News, Sport and Entertainment.
The Origination & Distribution Shift Support team is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance of broadcast systems, equipment, software applications and networks to MCR, Playout, OTT and DTH. This includes troubleshooting hardware/software issues as well as performing preventative maintenance on all related components. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a team player to ensure the smooth operation of our broadcasting operations.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical support and timely fault analysis on the Broadcast Headend, VOD and Streaming platforms
- Work a regular shift pattern in one of two engineering teams formed of Associate Engineers, Engineers & Senior Engineers
- Provide reactive, logical, and methodical fault finding to a broad variety of faults found across a large platform
- Create & update tickets for every task, working these through to resolution
- Field calls, deal with routine maintenance and proactive checks, and attend major incident reviews.
