The design, alteration, and amendment of the built environment of the UHB's properties include the production of technical specifications, to supervise and liaise with external contractors, consultants, and healthcare professionals/users in the completion of the works.
Inspecting, monitoring, and reporting on building work to ensure it meets contract specifications, legal standards, and quality requirements.

To develop sketch schemes from an agreed brief/schedule of accommodation, detailed design, production of supporting documentation, including Planning, Building Control, and Fire Office approvals.
The effective utilisation of various IT programmes in the production of information, especially the use of Revit for the production of design drawings.
Working as part of a team with other In-House Design / external Consultants in the execution of capital projects.
Updating of existing and As-fitted drawings on the UHB's IT database following the completion of various projects and archiving or deleting redundant information.
Ensures that all design work and the procurement of works are efficient, cost effective and meet relevant Statutory and Mandatory Standards, e.g. British Standards, WHTM's, WHBN's, Fire Safety Act, Building Control, etc.
Will act as main input on building issues and to liaise with other professional colleagues (mechanical, electrical, IT, Telecommunications, Fire Officer, etc.) to ensure successful completion works.
