Business Analyst (Digital/Data)

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Data Innovation and Data Management team, the Business Analyst will support the development of digital and data solutions by eliciting, analysing and refining requirements, and ensuring these are clearly documented and communicated for delivery.

The postholder will coordinate delivery activity, support governance processes, and act as a key link between digital/data teams and the business from initiation through to completion, contributing to key product deliverables across Digital Transformation and Data Management.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

• Degree or equivalent experience in healthcare, quality improvement, change management, or a related field.
• Formal training or equivalent experience in Business Analysis (e.g. BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis, BCS Certificate in Business Analysis)

Desirable

• Formal training or equivalent experience in Improvement Science or Change Management methodologies

Experience

Essential

• Experience of applying business analysis techniques within large-scale initiatives in a service focused organisation
• Significant experience of supporting the development and implementation of business change which impacts patients / customers and/or the workforce
• Experience of conducting both quantitative and qualitative analysis from problem statement and research questions through to findings and recommendations
• Experience of producing detailed written reports, communication materials and presentations for a variety of stakeholders

Desirable

• Experience of applying improvement, innovation or transformation tools and frameworks in an NHS organisation or related industry.
• Experience supporting initiatives which are multi-agency or involving 3rd parties.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Able to select and apply a broad range of business analysis tools and approaches. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
• Working knowledge of change management and service or workforce redesign
• Proficient in the use of business analysis to support in the development and comparison of solutions, assessing the feasibility of solution options against the objectives of the change.

Desirable

• Understanding of NHS structures, policies, and strategic priorities.
• Ability to project / estimate the impact of to-be states and then analyse outcomes once implemented.
