About the Role
This role sits at the heart of how CF's Health Systems practice identifies, pursues and wins new work. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, Partners, and consulting and corporate teams, the Business Development Consultant plays a key role in ensuring BD activity is strategic, joined-up and effective in supporting the practice to grow.
This is an opportunity for someone highly organised and sharp on detail, who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and eager to develop deep expertise in business development within the healthcare sector.
Responsibilities
The role spans the full BD lifecycle, from identifying opportunities to supporting on the development of compelling proposals and maintaining the systems and knowledge base that keep the practice running effectively. Responsibilities include:
- Developing polished, persuasive proposal documents that articulate CF's products, services and unique value
- Researching and tracking new opportunities that align with CF's objectives and Health Systems strategy
- Coordinating bids end-to-end; organising meetings, managing clarifications, and ensuring tender responses are submitted accurately and on time
- Maintaining the CRM by logging opportunities, capturing key data, and recording feedback from bid submissions to inform future approaches
- Providing bid support and administration to the Business Development Manager and bid teams across Health Systems
- Creating bid mobilisation documents, completing compliance requirements, proofreading, submitting proposals via client portals, and collating CVs, case studies and other supporting materials
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates will demonstrate a combination of strong commercial awareness, excellent organisational ability and a genuine interest in healthcare. We are looking for the following:
Essential
- 2+ years of experience in business development, business analysis, project management, proposal or technical writing, or a related role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Desirable
- Experience with CMap or other CRM systems
- Experience working in a consultancy, professional services or knowledge-led organisation
- Familiarity with the health systems landscape
Flexible Working
Our default is to work in person with our clients, but we also support remote working. Team members can work from home one day per week as standard, and we offer an additional 44 remote working days per year. This allows you to work from home up to two days per week — subject to client needs — or use your allowance in blocks, depending on what works best for you. Office hours are flexible within our core hours of 10am–4pm.
