This role encompasses all the core responsibilities typically found in a law firm Marketing & Business Development (M&BD) role, but it also offers a distinctive opportunity to join the Entertainment & Media (E&M) industry group – one of the most dynamic and forward-thinking teams within the firm. We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative, self-motivated, and results-driven business development professional to become part of this vibrant, fast-growing, and innovative team. The E&M group works with some of the most prominent and exciting clients in the entertainment and media sectors worldwide, from global superstars to pioneering start-ups.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a key contact point for Entertainment and Media lawyers across the firm. They will work closely with the industry leaders, partners and associates to drive and execute the marketing and business development priorities for the group.

  • Work collaboratively to coordinate the preparation of pitch materials and presentations, providing support in the creation and editing of content to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Oversee the Entertainment and Media group’s social media channels, collaborating closely with lawyers to draft, edit, and coordinate engaging posts.
  • Organise and manage events across the London office, including compiling mailing lists, managing invitations and RSVPs, and coordinating all aspects of event logistics such as speakers, catering, and venue arrangements.
  • Edit and update marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and lawyer biographies, for use in print, on the firm’s website, and on the intranet; ensure timely posting of updates as required.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of directory entries and award nominations to support the firm’s legal rankings and recognition efforts.
  • Support on the development and execution of large-scale thought leadership initiatives, including the management of digital campaigns.
  • Coordinate webinars by managing scheduling and logistics, working with the design and events teams to develop and distribute invitations, promoting events through digital and social media channels, supporting lawyers with related materials, and handling post-event follow-up.
  • Manage the collection and production of internal marketing materials, such as monthly newsletters, mailing lists, internal blogs, and capability statements.
  • Coordinate the group’s participation in, and sponsorship of, local and national conferences.
  • Maintain and update attorney experience and client information within the firm’s experience databases and client relationship management (CRM) system; assist in the upkeep of practice group and specialty group intranet sites.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Entertainment and Media Business Development Manager and Senior Coordinator on a range of BD projects within the group.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in a marketing and/or business development role within a professional services environment.
  • First-rate drafting skills with the ability to write a ‘first time working product’.
  • Strong organisation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Technologically savvy and able to quickly learn new database systems.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using social media, particularly LinkedIn, to drive business and build a profile.
  • Extremely detail oriented, proactive and self-directed with the ability to independently manage and appropriately prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Law firm experience preferred.
  • Genuine interest in media and entertainment, with a desire to stay current on industry developments and trends.
  • Truly proactive, always looking to bring new ideas and ways of working to the team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels, including BD colleagues, partners and clients.
  • Comfortable establishing effective firmwide working relationships with individuals at all levels, both on the business services and legal side.
  • Flexible and versatile approach to work.
  • Able to demonstrate sound professional judgment.
