About The Position

As a Business Development Representative for the DACH region, you will play a critical part in driving the company’s growth by generating and nurturing sales leads for our unified, cloud-based platform focused on Human Risk Management and comprehensive email security. The Mimecast product suite protects organizations against phishing, ransomware, and impersonation while providing data archiving, continuity, and employee training to reduce insider threats.

As a BDR, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers, responsible for high-volume outreach to qualify leads and create new business opportunities. You will work closely with Marketing, Channel, and Sales teams, as well as reseller partners, to uncover opportunities and fuel our sales pipeline.

What You’ll Do

As a BDR, your primary goal is to create opportunities and drive pipeline growth through high-volume outreach and relationship building. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Partner Collaboration: Work with reseller partners to identify and generate joint opportunities.
  • Target Account Profiling: Research and profile target accounts to identify key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential pain points.
  • Pitching: Articulate Mimecast’s value proposition in a clear and compelling way, secure meetings, and handoff to the wider sales team.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and ensure accurate tracking of all activities, interactions, and prospect details in the CRM system.
  • Prospect Engagement: Conduct initial needs analysis to understand prospect requirements, pain points, and business challenges, ensuring alignment with the company’s solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives, marketing teams, and reseller partners to ensure seamless transition of qualified leads, alignment on strategic initiatives, and joint opportunity generation.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively position the company’s solutions and refine outreach strategies.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule qualified meetings with the appropriate sales representatives or Account Executives (AEs) to progress opportunities.
  • Continuous Learning: Attend training sessions, stay updated on product developments, and refine skills to enhance prospecting effectiveness.

  • What You’ll Bring

    • Previous Experience: Experience in tele-sales, business development, or outbound prospecting is a plus, though not required.
    • Language skills: Fluency in English & German is required
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage potential customers and articulate value propositions.
    • Sales-Driven Mindset: A motivated self-starter with a desire to exceed targets and grow your sales career.
    • Resilience: Ability to handle objections and rejection, remaining focused and determined.
    • Tech-Savvy: Experience using sales engagement platforms, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM, and automation tools preferred.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough needs analysis, understand customer pain points, and qualify opportunities effectively.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and channel partners.
  • Resilience: Persistence and resilience in the face of rejection and challenges in lead generation.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to iterate messaging and approach based on feedback and market conditions.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to maintain high outreach activity levels.
