Description
Are you looking for a role where you can shape security thinking, guide senior leaders and help a business confidently manage information risk?

We are looking for a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to act as the key link between our business areas and the Security Team. You will work as a trusted adviser to senior business and technology stakeholders, helping them understand and embed security strategies, policies, processes and road maps. You will play a vital role in ensuring Information Security is considered across all areas of the business, supporting teams to operate within risk appetite and guiding them through the design and implementation of central security strategies.

You will bring an inquisitive, intuitive mindset, strong technical understanding and the ability to translate security requirements into practical guidance for teams. This is a role where your influence will directly help shape secure platforms and give confidence to both internal and external stakeholders. If you are passionate about solving problems, managing risk and enabling the business to operate securely, this could be the role for you.

We can offer great career progression opportunities, ability to be based anywhere across the UK, benefits which you can flex to meet your needs, and training and development opportunities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Acting as the primary connection between business areas and the Security Team, ensuring effective engagement and understanding.
  • Advising senior business and technology leaders on security strategies, policies, processes, architecture and road maps.
  • Supporting business units to operate within information security risk appetite.
  • Taking responsibility for assessing and managing information security risk across the business.
  • Ensuring Information Security is considered in all elements of business activity.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of central security strategies.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong focus on problem solving to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills to support leaders and teams in delivering secure platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of information security, cyber security and risk management principles.
  • Broad understanding of how security is applied to technology in an enterprise setting.
  • Intermediate understanding of SSL and ADS strategies, business platforms, service offerings and operating environments.
  • An inquisitive and intuitive mindset, knowing what to ask, when to ask it and why.

It would be great if you had:

  • Intermediate data manipulation and visualisation skills, for example using Power BI.
  • Good presentational skills.

If you’re interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply, we’d love to hear from you!

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Location: UK (Hybrid – variable, expected to travel).

Security Clearance Level: SC.

Internal Recruiter: Soraya.

Salary: £85,000 to £95,000.

Benefits: 10% bonus, £5,400 car allowance, 25 days annual leave with the option to buy additional days, private medical, life assurance, pension and generous flexible benefits fund.

Although this role is advertised as full-time, we believe that flexibility at work can promote work/life balance, increase your motivation, reduce stress and improves performance and productivity. We support different ways of working and can offer a range of flexible working arrangements. So, if you’re interested and need to work flexibly, we encourage you to apply and talk to us about what might be possible.
