Role Purpose

The role of the Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to design, build and maintain high-quality reporting and data solutions across the organisation.

This role has a strong emphasis on paginated reporting and production-grade datasets, alongside modern analytics platforms including SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI and ThoughtSpot.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working across the full BI lifecycle — from ad hoc data extraction and complex SQL development through to ETL pipeline design and delivery of scalable reporting solutions in Azure or AWS environments.

Operational

Reporting & Analytics Delivery

• Design, build and maintain paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
• Develop robust semantic models and curated datasets in Power BI to support operational and finance reporting.
• Create and maintain structured, reusable datasets to improve consistency and reduce duplication.
• Develop and support ThoughtSpot content, including Liveboards, worksheets and search‑driven analytics.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, well‑governed reporting solutions with clear documentation.
  
  

Data Engineering & ETL

• Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and model data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, procedures and views within SQL Server.
• Build and maintain dimensional data models, including star schemas and curated data marts.
• Embed data quality, validation and reconciliation controls within data pipelines.
  
  

Cloud & Platform

• Work within Azure or AWS environments to deploy and support data and BI solutions.
• Contribute to the development of BI architecture, reporting standards and best practice.
• Support governance, security and role‑based access controls across BI platforms.

Skills And Experince

4+ years’ experience in a BI / Data role with hands-on development responsibility.

Strong SQL Server experience (T-SQL, performance tuning, stored procedures, indexing strategies).

Demonstrable experience building ETL pipelines (e.g. SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent tooling).

Strong experience developing paginated reports (Power BI Report Builder / SSRS).

Hands-on experience with ThoughtSpot, including worksheet and Liveboard development.

Experience building Power BI datasets and semantic models (DAX, data modelling).

Experience working in Azure or AWS cloud environments.

Proven experience responding to ad hoc

analytical requests in a fast-paced environment.

Solid understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing principles.
