Job Description

DP World are recruiting for a proactive and organised Business Support Administrator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based at our port in Stanford-le-Hope.

This role provides essential administrative support across the Operations Business Unit, including Terminal Operations, Engineering, Civil Engineering, IT, Health & Safety and Facilities Management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multiple teams to ensure efficient day-to-day operations and provide high-quality business support services.

How Will You Contribute

  • Provide administrative support across the Operations Business Unit, including Terminal Operations, Engineering, IT, Health & Safety and Facilities Management.
  • Support the Office Manager with projects and day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Prepare documentation, reports and presentations for meetings and internal communications.
  • Maintain accurate records, files and document control systems across departments.
  • Take meeting minutes, track actions and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Support purchase requisitions, supplier invoicing and liaise with Accounts Payable to resolve queries.
  • Process team expenses and coordinate travel arrangements in line with company policy.
  • Manage meeting room bookings and provide administrative support for meetings and events.
  • Assist with organising company events, staff functions and social activities.
  • Carry out general administrative duties and provide ad-hoc support to teams across the port.

What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience in an administrative or business support role.
  • Business Administration qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proactive, flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

  • NOTE: All of our roles are subject to the below:

    • Eligibility to work in the UK
    • A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads
    • No unspent criminal convictions
    • Due to manufacturing guidance and safety weight limits, our safety critical roles require an individual to weigh under 130kg .
    • We may close our roles early, depending on the number of applications received.
