Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a well-organised, enthusiastic, and adaptable individual to join our Notts Outdoors service as a Business Support Administrator. This is a permanent, office-based role located at St Michael’s Environmental Education Centre, situated in the stunning surroundings of the Peak District National Park.
St Michael’s Centre has been welcoming school groups for over 30 years and was the first centre to be awarded Peak District National Park Ambassador status in 2019. The centre plays a vital role in delivering high-quality outdoor and environmental education to children and young people across Nottinghamshire and beyond.
About The Role
As a Business Support Administrator, you will provide essential administrative and reception support to the Notts Outdoors team. You will be responsible for managing communications, coordinating bookings, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the centre. The role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information in accordance with GDPR.
This is a fully office-based position, and you will be expected to work on-site at St Michael’s Centre during their contracted hours.

You will be joining a small, friendly, and highly committed team of professionals who are passionate about outdoor learning and environmental education. The team includes experienced educators, centre staff, and administrative personnel who work collaboratively to deliver safe, engaging, and enriching experiences for young people. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and reception support to the Notts Outdoors team
- Manage bookings, correspondence, and documentation with accuracy and efficiency
- Support the smooth running of the centre and assist in meeting service deadlines
- Handle sensitive and confidential information in line with data protection regulations
Essential Requirements
- Proven administrative experience and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
