We are looking for a Business Support Administrator to work within the Catering, Cleaning & Landscapes Department of Nottinghamshire County Council. The role will have a hybrid working style with time initially spent at County Hall for training purposes but with the scope for home working once training is completed.

This post offers an opportunity to build upon existing skills and experience that you currently have within a team responsible for providing a comprehensive support and administration service to the whole of Catering, Cleaning & Landscapes for Nottinghamshire County Council. You will be a key member of a small team and will report directly to the Team Leader.

We are looking for someone with first-rate communication skills, both verbal and written, who can adapt their interpersonal and relational skills to a wide cross-section of stake holders. Your duties will require you to work to strict deadlines and on your own initiative, so you must have good organisational skills and have good self-motivation. The post requires excellent organisational skills, and you should be adaptable and flexible and have previous experience of working in a busy team. You should be experienced in dealing with confidential information, data processing, using IT, as well as experience in the wider administrative requirements of the team.

*(From the 01st of September 2025 the Catering, Cleaning & Landscapes Department will be moving across to a new joint venture of Vertas Nottinghamshire Ltd and therefore from that date the employment will be with Vertas Nottinghamshire Ltd. All contractual terms will be transferred over from Nottinghamshire County Council to the new joint venture from the 01st of September 2025 and the working base will be Trent Bridge House.)*

For more details about this role, please contact David Hough at [email protected]

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
