Tasks
- Provide market competitive procurement solutions for the operating unit which demonstrate best overall value formoney.
- Provide an effective and professional service in the procurement of materials.
- Construction stage project procurement for Project Leader, including: -▪ Supporting the production and driving of the procurement schedule▪ Supporting the development of work package documents in conjunction with project teams▪ Work package procurement.
- Support the supply chain management activities, including structuring the supply chain.
- Support activities that generate and encourage an efficient, productive and continuously improving supply chainperformance.
- Support the group procurement functional goals and objectives within the region.
- Ensure supplier evaluation forms and risk assessments are maintained.
- Demonstrate best overall value for money in the procurement recommendations.
- Ensure a robust negotiation process is applied in the engagement process.
- Ensure contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business in its dealingswith suppliers.
- Ensure decisions are not focussed upon lowest price but overall best value for money.
- Previous experience gained in a Buying/Procurement role.
- Aspiring to or already working towards CIPS qualification.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid product and supplier knowledge.
- A working knowledge of contracts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience gained within a construction/engineering environment.
