In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, working in the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
This post will provide a CYP early intervention service within CAMHS to children, young people, their families and the education workforce within the mental health support team (MHST) and partner education sites. This is a community-based post located within the Bedfordshire and Luton Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and education sites offering flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatments to a wide variety of mild to moderate presentations.

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in appropriate mental health profession such as Community Mental Health Nursing, Child Psychotherapies, Counselling, Art Psychotherapy, Social Work, Family Therapy, Clinical Associate Psychologist, Occupational Therapy (two years with diploma), and registration with relevant UK governing body.
- Appropriate level of qualification for your profession e.g. PG Diploma, BSc, Masters.
Desirable
- Post Grad training or experience to support the needs of children, young people and their families
- Additional therapeutic training in evidence based therapy, such as CBT, DBT, IPT-A
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with children and young people across the full age-range
- Experience of working with parents and carers
- Experience of working with a wide range of mental health problems
- Experience of risk formulation, monitoring, and management of moderate self-harm.
Desirable
- Parenting qualification and parenting supervision qualification
- Previous experience of working in CAMHS
Skills
Essential
- A high degree of self-awareness and an ability to reflect on personal and professional attitudes and accept feedback
- Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS
- Specific knowledge of pertinent issues for CAMHS A knowledge of CAMHS issues including assessment and interventions
Desirable
- Skilled in emergency and crisis assessments
- Teaching skills, both in clinical setting and education centres
Knowledge
