Purpose of the role and how you will contribute:
As a Case Support Assistant, you’ll be part of our contact centre team, providing first‑line support to NFU members using the Legal Assistance Scheme (LAS). You’ll process applications, respond to queries and ensure all cases are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with established procedures and service standards. Working closely with the Technical Lead (LAS) and third-party specialist advisers, you’ll help progress applications, prepare case information and support with the presentation of case updates and support the smooth operation of the scheme.
What you’ll bring:
You’ll bring a degree-level qualification in law or a related technical discipline, along with strong communication skills and an excellent telephone manner. Confident using Microsoft Office, contact‑centre systems and recording accurate case information, you’ll be organised, proactive and able to prioritise competing demands.
You’ll combine sound judgement with the ability to follow guidelines, make informed proposals for providing financial support and maintaining accurate records. A team player with good initiative, you’ll also be comfortable reading legal documents and maintaining high professional standards. Knowledge of the farming or agricultural sector would be an advantage.
