We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Children'sOccupational Therapy Assistant to join the Brentwood Integrated Therapy Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established Specialist Children’s Occupational Therapy Team, supporting children and young people across the Brentwood, Basildon and Thurrock areas. Working alongside experienced Occupational Therapists and other professionals, you will play an important role in helping children and young people achieve their goals and maximise their independence and participation in everyday activities.

Main duties of the job
To participate in the OT process for children and young people with functional developmental, physical or sensory needs, under the guidance and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT).
To maintain records in line with trust policy using the electronic record system.
To support OTs in the assessment, provision and monitoring of specialist equipment for children including responsibility for ordering equipment following agreed processes.
To manage and prioritise own patient case load and non-client activities on the advice of an occupational therapist e.g. care of stock/equipment, general tidiness and organisation of department/area.
To be responsible for the safe use of occupational therapy equipment including that used by children in your care.
To assist the OT in the treatment of children using a range of approaches as directed by the OT.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement Fringe (Basildon, Thurrock, Brentwood, Harlow and Dartford only)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,303 to a maximum of £2,198 p.a. pro rata for part time)
