Working as part of a team or alone, the Cleaner’s role is to help with general cleaning of all areas of the main Cathedral building including offices, food outlets and retail areas as required.
Job Summary
- Helping to ensure as part of a team that the Cathedral is presented in the best possible way and cleaned to a very high standard.
- Helping to ensure that the Cathedral is left clean, neat and tidy following any event, concert or other activity.
The Cleaner will be expected to work closely with and under the direction of the Cleaning Supervisor, Operations Manager or other member of Cathedral staff acting as a team leader in a supervisory role.
Key Duties Include
- Cleaning of the Cathedral and Diocese buildings as directed.
- Cleaning of all glazed areas each day as required.
- Emptying of all waste bins and removal of rubbish to the designated collection area.
- Ensuring the general tidiness of the Cathedral in close cooperation with other members of the Cleaning team
- Cleaning of all toilet and washroom facilities and replenishment of all toiletry and general requisites
- Operation of various mechanical cleaning machinery including buffing machines & floor scrubbers
Health and Safety
- Being vigilant in ensuring that all areas of the Cathedral accessible to staff, visitors and contractors are maintained in a safe and secure manner and that any hazards, defects or security issues are reported to the Operations manager or Team Leader
- Being aware of their own health and safety and that of others
- Following all safety procedures
The Cleaner will be required to undertake any other duties not specifically listed above as may be requested by management or other member of Cathedral staff acting as a team leader in a supervisory role.
The post holder must be in sympathy with the aims and ethos of the Church of England and to fully support the Mission and Values of Liverpool Cathedral.
