The Children and Young People’s (CYPS) Directorate in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the well-established multi-disciplinary Mindworks Hub South (MHS). Mindworks Hubs are part of Mindworks Surrey, an alliance of NHS, national and local voluntary sector organisations providing mental health services to children in Surrey using the THRIVE approach. The MHS has the main base in Frimley, with a satellite office in Guildford.
This post will be suitable for a passionate and highly motivated psychologist interested in ensuring excellent psychological care is accessible for children and young people with complex mental health needs from diverse backgrounds, through delivering direct therapeutic interventions, providing supervision to junior colleagues, and providing consultations to the MDT and other services. This is a part-time (30 hours) post based in Guildford. We welcome applicants who are in the last year of training. If appointed prior to HCPC registration being finalised, you will be appointed at Band 6, progressing to Band 7 upon gaining HCPC registration.
Psychology in SABP has a history of being highly valued and clinicians are well supported to develop their generic and specialist skills in a range of therapeutic models. We encourage staff to be involved in service development, audit and research. We provide regular supervision and access to CPD opportunities
- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services
- To supervise and teach unqualified staff, including students
- To promote a psychological perspective within the team and with other agencies
- To support team managers and clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services
