An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our Neonatal Sister/Charge Nurse team to join our outstanding team across Nottingham Neonatal Service. There has never been a more exciting time to join our neonatal team as we expand our neonatal service. The New Neonatal Unit has opened at QMC, providing an additional 21 cots taking the total cots at QMC to 38.

We provide care for tertiary level neonatal care for premature babies and their families at Queen’s Medical Centre, City Hospital Local neonatal unit, we are the north hub in the East Midlands for neonatal intensive care. We are proud to offer both medical and surgical intensive care for extremely premature and very sick infants, as well as having an integrated outreach team in place to support babies and families once they return home.
The post holder is required to work as a member of the Neonatal Services nursing team which delivers care on both City and QMC campuses. They will be a member of a team of Band 7 nurses who lead and take managerial, professional and clinical responsibility for the neonatal services nursing team. They will have 24 hours responsibility for the management and delivery of care within the neonatal service across 7 days a week, day and night. They will deputise when requested for the Ward Manager, Critical Care Sister and Quality Sister.
The post holder must be a current NMC Registered Nurse (child or adult branch) with a recognised neonatal critical care qualification and experience in a neonatal critical care area. In addition they will hold a recognised teaching or mentoring qualification.
