Job Summary
Band 3 Clinical Support Worker 36 hours per week.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Support Worker within the Day Case Unit, West Cumberland Hospital for 36 hours.
This is a busy Day Surgery Unit which accommodates patients undergoing day case procedures and In-patients who are cared for pre and post-operatively following their planned surgery. The opening times of the unit are currently 07:30-20:00 with plans to extend the opening hours. Clinical Support Worker duties involves working in a small and friendly team covering all aspects of care including monitoring and documenting patients vital signs pre and post operatively. The Clinical Support Worker will be expected to assist the Registered Practitioner in the delivery of safe, efficient care to patients.
The successful candidate will be offered training for venepuncture and E.C.G. practice. The applicant should have good, effective communication skills , be empathetic and be able to treat patients with confidentiality and dignity.
The Day Case Unit is a very busy unit which provides care for a large volume of patients which varies from Surgical procedures to Trauma cases. We work at a fast pace to provide a very high standard of care.
Main duties of the job
The Team in the Day Case Unit is a relatively small committed team who are experienced nurses. We are committed to our patients and treat them with dignity ,compassion, respect and confidentiality. The team ensure that we provide a high standard of safe quality of care.
The essential criteria for this role includes the requirement to have a care certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake this. For further information please see the attached Care Certificate document attached.

- Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;
