TALKWORKS, Devons NHS Talking Therapies Service has a great opportunity for you! TALKWORKS, is a large, high performing service, with strong fidelity to the treatment service and model.

The opportunity has arisen for a 6 month secondment Clinical Team Lead post in the Paignton and Brixham TALKWORKS team, as part of a job share. The role will be for 12.5 hours, covering Mondays with the additional hours worked across Tuesdays and/or Thursdays depending on the needs of the service/team. We welcome applications from motivated and dynamic individuals who are able to use their therapeutic knowledge, supervisory and leadership skills to guide and empower clinicians within the team.

Main duties of the job

To work in partnership with the job-share Clinical Team Lead in the Paignton and Brixham team, to provide effective leadership and management to the locality. This will encompass overseeing the continuous professional development, supervision structure and wellbeing of the team, supporting a culture of ongoing clinical growth and excellence.

- To work as part of the wider leadership team for TALKWORKS which will include developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure the development and delivery of a safe, high-quality service in line with national guidelines.

- To establish and maintain excellent working relationships internally within TALKWORKS as well as within the wider NHS Trust and partner agencies external to the service.

- To maintain a small clinical caseload to support and develop your clinical skills in line with accreditation requirements.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

• A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, psychology or within a psychological therapy.
• Specialist training in CBT or other NHS-Talking Therapies compliant therapy (can include a combination of: professional diploma, advanced diploma, BABCP/BACP registration, other further substantial training, accredited CBT/other NHS-Talking Therapies compliant supervision, specialist courses in particular CBT/other NHS-Talking Therapies compliant techniques) to masters or equivalent level
• Has received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
• Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this
• BABCP accredited or BACP accredited/UKCP Registered as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor / Association of Christian Counsellors Accreditation / National Counselling Society Accredited Professional registrant.
• Trained in provision of supervision for CBT/other NHS-Talking Therapies compliant therapy

Experience

Essential

• In-depth experience of working in mental health services where multi disciplinary working was embraced as part of service delivery
• Experience of delivering service re-design
• Experience of developing and implementing service policies and procedures

Involvement in research programmes

Experience of leading a team

Experience of day to day management of a team

Desirable

• Experience of working in Primary Care Services
• Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes

Communication Skills

Essential

• Proven ability to communicate clearly in difficult and complex situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
• The ability and skills to act as an advocate for a new service, to engage and foster good professional relationships with all health professionals in promoting the good integration of this service with the wider health care system

Knowledge

Essential

• An understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present to Mental Health Wellbeing and Access Services.
• Knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health

An understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post

Expertise and knowledge across the spectrum of an NHS-Talking Therapies service
