We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin their career through a Commercial Apprenticeship. This role provides structured training, valuable on the job experience, and the chance to develop skills that will set you up for long-term success.

At Portakabin, we provide modular buildings for hire and sale for organisations of any size, in sectors ranging from manufacturing, education and health to transport, utilities and construction.

We’re looking for a motivated Commercial Apprentice who will bring energy, creative new ideas and a fresh perspective to help Portakabin continue to innovate, lead and transform the world of modular buildings.

We’re on the search for an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our GB Hire team in Manchester as a Commercial Apprentice. If you’re an ambitious and hardworking self-starter, who is looking to earn while you learn, then we want to hear from you.

Our Commercial Apprenticeship programme has been developed to ensure you are supported throughout every step of your journey. Your 2-year apprenticeship will be delivered through a blended learning approach supported by our learning provider, Mercuri. You will be stretched, challenged, and supported by a business that views your professional development as a priority to achieve your Level 4, Sales Executive qualification.

Role Details:
• Annual Salary - £20,000
• Role based: Trafford Park Hire and Visitor Centre, Manchester, M17 1AW
• Contract type: 36.25 Hours Per Week
• Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays


In this role you will be required to:

• You’ll be hands-on, working as part of our commercial teams who are responsible for winning orders and maintaining customer relationships
• In-house training to really understand the full range of Portakabin products and services
• Develop valuable skills such as effective communication, relationship building, presentation techniques and business development skills
• Creating commercial proposals and delivering them in a format, style and technique suiting our customers
• Various channels of support including your line manager, Area Hire Managers, colleagues, and a mentor. You will also network with other apprentices across the business

Essential Requirements and Applying

What we’re looking for….
· 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (A* - C)
· 2 A Levels Grade A*- C (or equivalent)
· A candidate with a positive attitude and a real desire to learn
· Fantastic communication skills – both in person and virtually!
· A strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Good organisation and planning skills
· Experience working in customer service or a client facing role (desirable but not essential)
