Permanent, Full Time

Join Premier Foods — where people, brands and purpose come together.

We’re proud to be one of the UK’s largest listed food businesses, with over 4,000 colleagues across 13 sites shaping the future of some of Britain’s best‑loved brands, found in 94% of households nationwide, making us one of the UK’s top three ambient food suppliers. From much‑loved household names such as Mr Kipling, Bisto, Oxo, Batchelors and Sharwoods, to our recently welcomed brands Fuel10k and Merchant Gourmet, our portfolio is packed with iconic favourites — and continues to grow.

We’re entering an exciting new phase of our growth, driven by a bold 10‑year vision to become a significantly bigger, more international business, operating in high‑growth categories and continuously pursuing M&A opportunities. To make this ambition a reality, building world‑class commercial capability across Marketing and Sales is critical.

We’re now looking for a Commercial Capabilities Controller to lead this agenda – a high‑impact role at the heart of our Commercial community.

Reporting into a Global Marketing Director
and working closely with senior leaders across Marketing and Sales, you’ll champion capability building across the business. This is a broad, influential role with visibility at SLT and ELT level, giving you the opportunity to shape how we develop skills, leadership and future‑fit capability across the organisation.

You’ll be trusted to set the direction, build the roadmap and bring programmes to life – adapting as our strategy and capability needs evolve.

Within your first year, you’ll have completed a full capability assessment across Marketing and Sales, defined a clear development plan and begun delivering impactful programmes that directly support our long‑term growth strategy.

What you'll be doing?

  • Leading a comprehensive capability assessment across Marketing and Sales and translating this into clear, actionable roadmaps
  • Designing and delivering flagship capability programmes such as Marketing Academy, Sales / Commercial Academy and other functional academies, working with internal L&D and external partners
  • Driving ongoing Marketing capability initiatives (e.g. bite‑size learning programmes), bringing best‑in‑class external thinking into the business
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships across the Commercial community and wider organisation
  • Playing an active role in wider company priorities, including simplification, process improvement and agency capability
  • Regularly updating Marketing & Sales SLTs, with occasional input into ELT and senior leadership forums

  • What we need from you?

    • An eperienced leader with a strong understanding of how complex, commercial organisations operate
    • Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, confidently presenting ideas and recommendations
    • A genuine passion for capability building, learning and organisational development
    • Strong communication skills and experience managing agencies and external partners
    • Highly organised, delivery‑focused and comfortable operating with autonomy
    • Collaborative by nature, with a track record of working cross‑functionally and bringing people on the journey
    • Numerate, data‑literate and confident translating insight into action

What we offer you in return...?

    • Competitive salary
  • Car Allowance
  • Bonus
  • Up to 7.5% pension
  • Life assurance
  • Wide range of online and in-house training
  • Access to an employee discount scheme, with access to hundreds of nationwide retailers

  • Ready to apply...?
