Commercial Financial Controller

Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded individual to join our team as Commercial Financial Controller, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and business partnering and will play a key role in providing strategic financial support and guidance to the business unit Managing Directors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support for strategic decision-making.
• Work closely with Directors to develop and track annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics, and provide regular updates and variance analysis.
• Monitor and analyse cashflow performance, proactively identifying issues, reporting insights to key stakeholders and implementing recovery plans.
• Drive continuous improvement in contract performance, monitoring risk and efficiencies to help drive positive change in outcomes for the business and our clients.
• Provide guidance and support on financial aspects of new projects, investments, and business initiatives.
• Assess and manage financial risks and opportunities within the business units and recommend and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial objectives with overall business strategy.
• Mentor and support junior finance team members and contribute to the overall development and success of the finance function within the organisation.
  
  
  

Experience and Qualifications

• A qualified accountant (e.g. ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5 years post qualified experience.
• Proven experience in commercially focused finance roles, supporting business performance and decision making.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment, and to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Leadership and mentoring skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to working with colleagues across the business.
