Joseph Hage Aaronson & Bremen LLP is an exciting dispute resolution and advisory law firm based in London. The firm uniquely integrates the expertise of leading solicitors and barristers, as well as specialist accountants and data scientists, to provide comprehensive solutions to complex legal challenges.

We handle some of the most complex and high-value commercial litigation matters - often involving novel issues of law, jurisdiction and procedure. Our established team of commercial litigation lawyers and KCs collaborate to deliver an effective case strategy, built around the clients’ commercial objectives. In all cases, we focus on protecting our clients’ interests, whether through litigation, mediation or alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and bright Commercial Litigation Associate to join our busy legal practice. We encourage applications from barristers at the independent bar as well as solicitors in established law firms.

You will be encouraged to work on a variety of cases. Rather than sitting in departments, we usually organise work in small, efficient teams. This gives our litigators the best opportunities to improve their skills, and we strongly believe that our clients’ interests are best served in this way.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and determined litigator, who may be seeking a different environment than the usual large corporate law firm or to move away from the independent bar. This role would suit someone who is pragmatic, forward-thinking, and thrives in a varied role. You will work closely with fee earners at all levels within our established commercial litigation team, and the level of responsibility and exposure to high-level work is unusually high at our firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting notes and opinions, interviewing witnesses, drafting witness statements, preparing evidence, drafting applications, pleadings, correspondence etc.
• Providing excellent standards of client care, in a professional and pleasant manner.
• Building rapport and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external organisations.
• Producing consistent, accurate and high-quality work.
• Showing a willingness to be involved, driven by the desire to learn and continuously to develop yourself.

Ideal Qualifications & Experience

• Strong academic qualifications from a highly regarded university (or equivalent).
• Qualified as a barrister or solicitor in the United Kingdom, ideally between 2-5 years’ Call/PQE.
• Commercial litigation experience in a reputable firm.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisation skills, and attention to detail.
• Desire to be part of a forward-thinking, fast-paced and dynamic firm.
• Proactive with a hands-on attitude and an enthusiasm for engaging in a wide breadth of duties.
