Commercial Tech Consultant Lawyer – BFlex

6‑month, full‑time contract (cover assignment)

BFlex is Burges Salmon's innovative legal consulting platform, connecting experienced lawyers with high‑quality, flexible assignments. We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Technology Legal Consultant to support a 6‑month, full‑time cover assignment within our Commercial and Technology team.

The assignment

This is a full‑time (5 days per week), 6‑month contract, providing cover for an agreed period. The role will focus on commercial contracting, transactional intellectual property, consumer and advertising matters and would be well suited to an experienced commercial technology lawyer who can step in quickly and operate with minimal supervision.

Scope of work

You will advise on a broad range of commercial matters, including:

  • Commercial contract drafting and negotiation
  • Corporate governance support
  • Data protection and regulatory compliance
  • Manufacturing, supply chain and route to market arrangements
  • Marketing compliance and sponsorship agreements
  • Consumer contracting and eCommerce
  • Intellectual property licensing and exploitation and sale and supply of goods and services agreements

  • Key responsibilities

    • Providing pragmatic, high‑quality commercial legal advice
    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
    • Supporting stakeholders across the business on day‑to‑day commercial matters
    • Collaborating with colleagues on more complex issues as required

    What we're looking for

    • Significant experience in commercial tech law (in‑house and/or private practice)
    • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
    • Clear, confident communication style
    • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or member of the Law Society of Scotland
