BCP Council Adult Social Commissioning for Disabilities is seeking two highly motivated Commissioning Managers to join their team for a fixed period of six months whilst a review and recruitment of the posts is carried out.

The posts will be working to support the commissioning requirements of people with care and support needs that primarily focus on 1. learning disabilities. 2. Mental Health. Ranging from low level support in the community to people with complex care and support needs.

The teams are responsible for commissioning a broad range of services from residential and supported living to day opportunities, housing related support, community-based services and advocacy.

The ideal candidates will be educated to a degree level or have significant experience in the commissioning field. Have experience in one or more of the primary support needs detailed in this advert. Have a passion for partnership working and co-produ
ction and ideally, a good level of experience working directly with providers in relevant markets to achieve sustainable, outcome based, value for money services.

The posts have management responsibility so relevant experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

You will be working in a supportive management and learning environment. There will be opportunities to attend wider meetings, webinars and training to further develop your knowledge and skills in the commissioning and social care sector.

Our team are driving forward the personalisation agenda with a view to more place-based commissioning and increasing choice and control through Individual Service Funds. If you share our excitement in taking forward a strength-based approach to commissioning, and championing the rights of people to be fully involved and supported within their own communities, then we would love you to be a part of our team.

If you would like to learn more about the role, please contact Siobain.hann@bcpcouncil.gov.uk, Head of Strategic Commissioning - Disabilities, for an informal discussion.

Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.
